Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Expense Manager Android app (“the app”) and this website. Both are provided by Naveen Kumar Kuppan (Naveen Apps), Tirunelveli, India (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
The app is free
Expense Manager is free to download and use. It has no ads. If we ever offer optional paid extras, their price and what they include will be shown clearly in the app before you buy, and purchases will be handled by Google Play under its own terms and refund policy.
License and open source
The app’s source code is published on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, copy, modify and distribute the code as that license allows; the license terms take precedence over these terms for anything to do with the code.
The license does not grant rights to the Expense Manager name, logo or Naveen Apps branding. If you publish your own version, please give it a different name and icon so people don’t confuse it with this app.
The copy of the app you install from Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
Your data and backups
Everything you enter is stored only on your device, and we have no copy of it. You are responsible for keeping backups. If you lose your phone, uninstall the app or clear its data without a backup, your data can’t be recovered. If you protect a backup with a passphrase and forget it, we can’t recover that either.
How we handle the limited technical data the app sends is described in our Privacy Policy.
Not financial advice
Expense Manager is a tool for recording and reviewing your own spending. Totals, charts, budgets and alerts depend on what you enter and may contain mistakes. They are not financial, tax or legal advice. Check important figures yourself before relying on them.
Acceptable use
Please don’t use the app or this website for anything unlawful, and don’t try to disrupt the website or the services the app relies on.
No warranty
The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise the app will be error-free, always available, or that data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or savings, arising from your use of the app or website. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded.
Third-party services
The app relies on Google Play (installation, updates and review prompts) and Google Firebase (usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings). Those services are governed by Google’s own terms. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we aren’t responsible for their content.
Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the app without any obligation to you. Contributions to the source code on GitHub are made under the Apache License 2.0.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may change, suspend or stop offering the app or website at any time; if we do, the data on your device stays there until you remove it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
